Stacy Tyson - General Director / Teacher
website. We hope you will find it useful, but more than that, we hope it serves as a bridge so that we can get to know you
better and help you deepen your walk with God by following Christ. Let me tell you a little about myself.
I was born in Corinth, Mississippi in 1968. My parents
still own a small furniture business in Corinth and are
members of Gaines Chapel United Methodist church where I
came to know Christ during my teenage years. After
graduating from Corinth High School in 1987, I enrolled at
Northeast Community College in order to pursue a degree in
music. In 1989 I transferred to the University of Memphis
to complete the degree. Within a few months, however, the
Lord began to redirect my path and the following year I
transferred to Crichton College, a Christian liberal arts
school, where I completed a degree in Liberal Studies.
While at Crichton, I met Jill Allman, the daughter of one
of my professors. Jill and I were married in June, 1993
after she had completed a degree in English Literature. In
July of that same year, we moved to Dallas, Texas in order
for me to pursue a Masters degree at Dallas Theological
Seminary. Our oldest daughter Hannah was born in 1997 at
the end of our third year in seminary. Due to complications
with Jill's pregnancy, Hannah weighed only 3.5 pounds at
birth. Although small, she had no other complications and
is now an energetic and healthy little girl. In April of
2004 we added a new member to our family, our daughter Sara
Michal. God has richly blessed our family and we give Him
thanks for drawing us closer to Him and to one another as
each day passes.
After graduating from DTS in May of 1998, we returned to
Memphis to be closer to family. I was first introduced to
TSF and Tom Murray by my employers at the time who were
also members of the TSF board. After several discussions
with Tom, it became clear that our goals and passions were
much the same. On December 1, 2000, I came on team with
Truth Seekers as Training and Resource Coordinator. It is
amazing how God has brought our paths together, matching
our talents and passion for discipleship.
With Tom’s "graduation" into the Lord’s
presence in August of 2005, the board of directors asked me
to take on the mantle of the next general director of the
ministry. Although I know that I could never replace Tom, I
do pray that by God’s wisdom and empowerment I will
be able to serve this ministry in continuing to pursue the
great goal of teaching, training, and equipping men and
women to become committed, confident, creative, and
competent disciples of the Lord Jesus.
