Daniel 9-12 | The Times of the End
24/02/08 17:04
In this final section of Daniel, visions and
prophecies are given about the end of history and the
future of national Israel. In the Seventy "Sevens" we
see the panorama of God's plan for history
culminating in the rise and destruction of "the
Prince who is coming" (Antichrist) and the wars that
have been decreed to take place before the end when
the Eternal Kingdom is established. Daniel was then
instructed to preserve his book for the days of the
end because in the end his writings will be able to
instruct those who have wisdom.

Daniel 7-9 | The Fourth Kingdom and the Seventy Sevens
17/02/08 18:58
This week we consider the interpretation that the
angel gives to Daniel's vision of chapter 7. This
interpretation focuses on the fourth and final world
kingdom and rise of it's final king - the Antichrist.
Realizing that the time of Israel's captivity in
Babylon was almost over, Daniel intercedes for the
nation asking God to be merciful - remembering His
promises to send His people home for the sake of His
great name. In response, the angel Gabriel brings an
answer to Daniel- "there are seventy sevens
decreed..."

Daniel 2-7 | The Panorama of History
10/02/08 17:43
This week we consider both Nebuchadnezzar's dream in
chapter 2 and Daniel's vision in chapter 7. In both,
the Sovereign Lord of History reveals the kingdoms
that will lead up to the establishment of His eternal
kingdom on the Earth. We begin to explore Daniel 7
which is probably the most significant passage in
this book.

Daniel 1-2 | Introduction and Overview
03/02/08 14:10
This is the first of a four part overview of the Book
of Daniel presented in the Sunday School electives at
First Evangelical Church during the month of February
2008. In this first session, we situate Daniel in his
historical and cultural circumstances and see that
God's sovereign and providential oversight of history
has placed Daniel exactly where he needed to be to
fulfill God's purposes for not only the nation of
Israel but also for the kingdom of Babylon.
