Phase 1 | AWARE |
| ALIVE > AWARE > AWAKE > FREE > FAITHFUL > FRUITFUL |
Ephesians 1:17-19
I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in your growing knowledge of him - since the eyes of your heart have been enlightened - so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what is the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the incomparable greatness of his power toward us who believe, as displayed in the exercise of his immense strength. (NET)
Once the foundation of the Gospel has been laid, we need to become AWARE of our new identity and position in Christ. Philip Melanchton said, “To know Christ is to know His benefits.” In this last half of PHASE 1, we want to know the love and power of Christ revealed in His completely sufficient saving and transforming work for us.
MTM Step 1.3 | Trusting Christ+0! |
Philippians 3:8-9
… I now regard all things as liabilities compared to the far greater value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things - indeed, I regard them as dung! - that I may gain Christ, 9 and be found in him, not because I have my own righteousness derived from the law, but because I have the righteousness that comes by way of Christ's faithfulness - a righteousness from God that is in fact based on Christ's faithfulness. (NET)
Our salvation and right relationship with God is granted to us through the faith and faithfulness of Jesus Christ. The merit of His righteousness before God is made real and effective for us through our trust in Him to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. This is the core of the One True Gospel. Yet there are many “false Gospels” that are not in line with one true Gospel. We need to be AWARE of these false teachings so that the power and joy of the Gospel is not stolen away by their idolatries. In the six lessons of this study we explore the Biblical idea of faith the false teachings that seek to add to or take away from the pure simplicity of the Gospel.
MTM Step 1.4 | Discovering Your New Life in Christ |
2 Corinthians 5:17
So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old has passed away look, what is new has come! (NET)
The instant we trust Christ, the Holy Spirit takes up His home deep within our hearts and from there begins transforming us from the inside out. His constant work is to enable us to bring our “condition” into balance with our “position” in Christ. At the point of our new spiritual birth, God blessed us with blessings and inheritances that now shape our identity as we are being conformed to the pattern of Christ’s own perfection - step by step. In the six lessons of this workbook, we explore what it means to be a "new creation" in Christ and how this new identity guarantees your eternal destiny.
