Phase1 | ALIVE |

| ALIVE > AWARE > AWAKE > FREE > FAITHFUL > FRUITFUL |

Ephesians 2:4-5
But God, being rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us, even though we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ - by grace you are saved! (NET)

Before any progress can be made in spiritual growth, we must be made spiritually ALIVE. The only way that this can take place is by trusting in the work of Jesus Christ to accomplish for us what we cannot do for ourselves. In the first two work books of PHASE 1, we explore what it means to be either “dead in Adam” or “alive in Christ.” Spiritually speaking, these are the only two types of people that exist in the World.

MTM Step 1.1 | Seeing The Big Picture |

2 Timothy 3:14-15
You, however, must continue in the things you have learned and are confident about. You know who taught you and how from infancy you have known the Holy Writings, which are able to give you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. (NET)

We all need a “frame of reference” for our lives. We need a “Big Picture” perspective on where we have come from and where we are heading so that we can get our bearings in the present. The Bible, the Holy Scriptures, reveals God’s answer to these basic questions. The six lessons of this workbook begin developing a worldview that sees God as the author of human history and Sacred Story of our lives.

MTM Step 1.2 | Understanding the Gospel |

Colossians 2:13-15
And even though you were dead in your transgressions and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, he nevertheless made you alive with him, having forgiven all your transgressions. He has destroyed what was against us, a certificate of indebtedness expressed in decrees opposed to us. He has taken it away by nailing it to the cross. Disarming the rulers and authorities, he has made a public disgrace of them, triumphing over them by the cross. (NET)

Central to the faith of Christianity is the Gospel of Jesus. At the heart of this Gospel is the Cross of Jesus. In His death, Jesus suffered for us in order to deal with our sinfulness, heal us from our corruptions and strip the Powers of Darkness that tyrannize this world. In His Resurrection, Jesus has been declared the Son-of-God-in-Power with all authority in Heaven and on Earth. In His Ascension, Jesus has taken His place as the Sustainer of All things and as Intercessor for His people. Jesus Christ has accomplished for us what we could not do for ourselves – make a straight path to the presence of God the Eternal Father. The six lessons of this workbook begin exploring all that Jesus Christ has accomplished for us as the One Unique Son of God and offers to us by His grace.
